It's taken almost four weeks, but today I feel pretty good! I got a full night's sleep last night, and my chest is almost clear; very limited coughing. Thank you, mega-antibiotics!

My nuclear scan is next week, and my appointment with my surgical team is August 18. So I won't have much news on the archaic illness front for a while. But who cares? I'm SLEEPING! I'm NOT COUGHING!! It's like the sun has come out after a whole month of rain...

Sleep is divine. I am going to get some right now...someday you'll have it again. You just gotta convince two little people that it's awesome!

Yay, no coughing!

I was telling Mom about your radiation scan, and how I hope the machine they use isn't as gigantic as the one they used on me back in the 1850s when I had my thyroid issues. She said she didn't remember the machine, because the parents weren't allowed in with their kids back then. Apparently, scarring little kids' lives forever because of traumatic events wasn't much of an issue back then.

Stupid frontier medicine...

It's the radiation itself, not the desire to scar kids. I was with Mother for one, and they kept me behind a very thick glass wall. I don't remember the machine, but she wasn't scared.

Of course it might have seemed really large because you were very small! Then again, since it was the 1850s it might really have been that large. Most steam-driven machines were pretty big...

Very glad to hear you're feeling better. There is NOTHING kills sleep like coughing.
