Less pretty than my previous post (but certainly interesting), a compare and contrast. Here's the forsythia tree in my driveway May 1, 2007:

And here's the same tree (taken with my iPhone, so not as good quality, sorry) one year later, on April 20, 2008:

Something has gone horribly wrong, here. I think it must be my bumbling landlord. My guess is he cut it back at the wrong time of year? Anyway it never bloomed beyond this. Sadness! It's all green now, though, so I guess it's not dead. I hope the blooms come back next year!

The weather has played havoc with blooming trees and shrubs this year. The lilacs are sticking around forever, and the azalea bush by the pool in Mom's backyard looks like it's trying to impress somebody. However, I have noticed the forsythias have been disappointing, so maybe it's just global warming taking effect.

(I'm talking about gardening stuff. Somebody shoot me!)
