Nov. 4th, 2009 11:13 pmI am feeling pretty stressed lately. The biggest stressor is my sick kitty — he had an intestinal blockage that needed emergency surgery to remove. The surgery went well, and they sent biopsies off from three places in his gut. Had to wait for the results, and had to wait until he was out of the "danger zone" of three to seven days to see if the patch job would fail. It didn't, but the biopsy results came back and it turns out it's cancer. A lot of cancer. His vet put him on prednisone and she is hopeful it will slow the tumor growth to give him a couple good months. Right now he is trying to be invisible because every time I see him I fill him with meds, and this is NOT MAKING HIM HAPPY. But I am feeling relieved, although I also feel hyper vigilant, which is kind of boring and stressful. How often do YOU look at your catbox and gauge just how much poop is in there? Yeah.
A few other stressors happen to also be both good and kind of fun, but taking up a lot of my time: taking a class in Illustrator one night per week. Having aquatherapy two nights per week. These are good, but take up a significant amount of after-work time. Add to that Patrick night on Saturday, date day on Sunday, and chores day on Monday, I'm left with Thursdays. One night. To get the rest of my shit done. And guess what? It's not happening!
I think I'm going to quit aquatherapy. I'm feeling a lot better anyway. And the Illustrator class is only six more weeks. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Just gotta hang on until then. By Christmas I should be sorted out. How many shopping days til then? Sigh.
So that's me. You?
