Exercise Sep 25-Oct 1:
Thu: Walking 30 min; Fitbit logged 8,500 steps
Fri: Nothing; Fitbit logged 8,200 steps
Sat: Walking 30 min; Fitbit logged 9,000 steps
Sun: Nothing; Fitbit logged 6,000 steps
Mon: Weight lifting 60 min; Fitbit logged 6,600 steps

Took the weekend off because my knee hurt a lot. Walked around the mall on Friday with Jenn, walked around Saturday with the girls from work, shopping, and walked down to watch a marching band competition in my town after dinner, and walked all over IKEA on Sunday with Suzanne, so I wasn't inactive — I just was walking more slowly than I would if I were actually exercising.

So! I was right to go to PT; turns out I have a sprained MCL (Medial Collateral Ligament) — basically the ligament on the inside of my knee. It's the same knee that I tore the meniscus on, and it's in the same basic spot. Nice to know I'm consistent! Sigh.

Gotta go 2x per week for a bit to PT, gotta do stretches 2x per day (three of them, three reps per time), gotta ice it up every night (top and bottom), gotta keep taking ibuprofen, etc. She zapped me today with the ultrasound device (it's warm and feels interesting) and iced me down for a while. I am not to do anything too quickly, but I can continue to walk as long as it doesn't hurt. I see her again on Wednesday. If after a while it doesn't get better I might have to have it drained (ugh!). But anyway, there's a plan and treatment, so that's good. Thanks, Massachusetts! Because I live here, and because I have a PPO instead of an HMO, I was able to bypass my physician and go straight to my PT. All he would have done is refer me to them ANYWAY, so it's nice to save time, aggravation, and cost and go straight to the source. This is the way medicine should work. The patient has a pretty good idea what they need? They can go where they need to. If they don't? They can always go to their doctor.

So my week was pretty ordinary. Worked. Saw friends as listed above. Today was cleaning, chores, shopping, PT, and weights class. Didn't do much else, watched some DVRd tv. Need to get to my list after work tomorrow. Lots of stuff backing up!
