i wish you luck with a capital F
Nov. 30th, 2011 11:45 pmAnother month. At least one thing is reasonably settled: Patrick decided that he is taking over my apartment, which has an extra room and a few more amenities plus a full attic. And he suggested that I move all the stuff I'm not taking with me to Mom's into the attic so I won't have to get a storage unit. The attic is huge, and since I can do the move gradually it shouldn't be too bad lugging boxes up the ladder/stairs. He gets to babysit my washer and dryer, too. So that's awesome! I have the best friends.
I've been working over at Mom's to get things ready for me to move in. Finished one room completely, starting another this weekend. So much to do there, but at least I've made progress. Even managed to get her to part with some ancient computer manuals, some broken electronics, etc. Big progress. I've notified the landlord here that our last day in the apartment is the end of January, so tomorrow I drop off my last rent check to him. Sad. He's a great guy, and I'd be his tenant forever — but clearly that's not in the cards.
Had an emotional blow a couple of weeks ago. Thought I was sheltered from stuff like this with the passage of time, but apparently not. Nice! But then the situation sort of resolved itself so I am feeling a little less stressed. Still feel unsettled and a little anxious, but better now. I am finding that having firmed up moving out dates and so on has helped immensely, too. Also have noticed that when I have a low blood sugar event (very frequent now, with the weight loss) the sad just sneaks up and smacks me around, so I'm trying to avoid further lows. Stupid diabetes.
Plateaued this week as expected. Got to 55 pounds lost, then stopped. But considering it was Thanksgiving a few days ago, I'm ok with that. I really need to get more exercise. Stopped going to the gym and haven't managed to go back. Don't even know why!
Might actually hit a book per week this year. Dunno why that seems important. When I think back, say, 10 years ago when I was reading 3/4 books per week, one per week seems kind of sad, so I guess I feel like I have to hit AT LEAST that much. Too many hours devoted to my TV grid and the internet. I need to retire so I can fit in all my leisure requirements!
