So I have often opined that most people I know (either IRL or on these vast internets) have one obvious thing that if they just DID it, would make their lives better. My mother should go to physical therapy. I should start eating better and exercise. One friend should get a real job. Another should get any job. Another should quit their job. Someone's marriage should probably end. The big obvious thing, that if you knew the person at all, you'd say "golly, why doesn't so and so do this thing? By not doing it, they're obviously unhappy. Their life would be so much better if they just..."
It's never an easy thing. Often it involves upheaval, inconvenience, sadness, loss, physical pain, whatever. It's a lot easier to avoid this thing. And of course as an outsider it's impossible for me to know exactly what the barriers are to doing this thing. Maybe there's a time constraint. Maybe there's a financial reason. Maybe they simply don't see the obvious thing as obvious at all. It might not be something they'd even consider, ever. It's all in MY head, after all.
But within the last two months, two different people I know have done the thing that was in my head that they needed to do. One person moved after living somewhere for a very long time. Another person took charge of a part of their life that they needed to in a decisive way. I guess now I get to see if it was the thing that makes them happier/better off.
And that's pretty inspiring.

"Quit your job."
"Oh that. But what do I do for money? And what will happen to my poor chickadees?"
"Get a job you like better. And your chickadees will deal with it."
"But there isn't such a thing as a better job."
"[Rolls eyes.] Shut up and quit your whining then."

I hope you can update us on those two OTHER people, though. That's pretty exciting stuff!
