many small parts make a whole

Started the day working from home and doing laundry. Took mom to the eye doctor around 2 (she needed drops so she wouldn't be able to drive herself home, plus the place is hard to park at for her semi-infirm self). The office has a cool exterior elevator, like you'd have for a wheelchair, so that was kind of neat. Loaded Mom into it, then ran up the stairs next to it and escorted her off. The waiting room was busy, and she was in the exam rooms for a really long time, so I had to amuse myself with local drama. There was a little excitement when one older woman got dropped off by some ride service and they weren't going to pick her up until after 5:15, and the whole office was closing down around 4:30 due to weather cancellations, so you could see them all getting anxious. Here's your hat, lady, what's your hurry!
Anyway, it ended up taking much more time than I thought, so on my drive home I called work and asked if it was ok to take a half day off rather than make up all the time. It was fine with them, so when I got home around 5:15 I was done. Patrick had asked if I wanted to hit the gym with him, but when we were in contact I was still planning on making up all the time so I said no. Ah well! Would have been nice to hit the whirlpool in this weather.
After I got home I did another load of laundry, Brian made some chicken enchiladas and we had dinner, I finally got a couple small things done that I've been procrastinating, did more laundry, moved around some furniture, and watched some tv. Not remarkable, but it was a day.
