So far so good on the getting a cold possibility *knocks wood*. After I got home and lazed around I started to feel better. Yesterday I woke up and felt ok, so I went out and did a few things for Mom (involving getting her glasses fixed, picking up lunch, getting money from her bank). Brian made us a late lunch of pancakes and eggs and bacon, and then I took a brief nap. In the evening we headed next door to Patrick's palatial estate and had a delicious dinner of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, onion rings, and salad. Patrick got a deep fryer for Christmas and wanted to use it, and everything was a success. Jenn was over for the evening, too, so we all hung out for a bit and chatted. Jenn brought my Xmas present, but of course I couldn't find hers (which was so weird, because I just don't have that many places that I allow papers to accumulate). I'll have to give it to her next time.

Today Brian had a dentist appointment for the first time with a new dentist. I knew where the office was, so I drove him in case they did actual work on him today. They didn't, really, mostly scheduled new appointments for later in the month. Ugh! Poor boy. So after we ran a couple errands and I dropped him back home and headed out to do Mom's grocery shopping (BOY will I be happy when she's steadier on her feet). Managed to get all her French Toast needs, and came home fairly early. Puttered around doing a few chores, looking for the card for Jenn — it has gift cards in it, can't lose it! Finally around MIDNIGHT I found it, after going through the last few weeks of accumulated mail, instructions, junk mail, shipping receipts, regular receipts, etc. And it wasn't in with all that crud at all. No, it was exactly where I looked for it yesterday, TWICE, and somehow failed to see it. I have a wee basket on my desk of stamps, stickers, stuff you put on envelopes. It's on top of the desk because the drawer it usually lives in needs reorganizing, so it was a convenient place to put a card in an envelope. It was right on top, but face down. I have NO IDEA how I missed seeing it. Duh! Combine that with a completely fail-ridden assumption I was making in my head of some math stuff, and I'm having a SPLENDID couple of weeks. I think I need an Alzheimer's test.

Managed to finish a book. At this rate, one book every 10 days? I will only get through 36 books this year. What happened to my blissful reading days of yore?

The internet, probably.

Yes, of course, but I meant in case you were drugged out of your mind! You certainly were in there long enough that they had to have done SOMETHING. Just nothing involving drills or needles...
