I really liked it. I don't know if it would change your life, but it's certainly an enjoyable read. It's fairly straightforward space opera, but with an enjoyable protagonist and a really interesting universe. I blogged it (http://greenstreetbks.livejournal.com/24654.html) and its sequel (http://greenstreetbks.livejournal.com/25013.html). I haven't read the additional novels in the series (Scalzi's an energizer bunny, cranking out the stuff) but I've liked these two.
