Sam, my fat fat fat cat! Sam loves to be near me all the time, but he's a little grumpy today because we went to the vet to get his blood work done. He really really hates the vet, so he's sleeping a bit further away from me than he usually would.

6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear:
Air conditioner, fan. Yes, once in a while I like both. One to chill, one to distribute! Bad environmentalist; no cookie for me!
7. When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
I went out this evening to get pet supplies and have dinner and go to Barnes and Noble, which was so air conditioned I was actually cold. I bought a small pile of books, including a couple of crossword puzzle books. Sigh.
8. What are you wearing?
Shorts, t-shirt, hair scrunchie
9. When did you last laugh?
There were very funny bits in "The Closer" this evening. Then.
10. Seen anything weird lately?
Yes! I was sitting in the parking lot of Barnes and Noble tonight, listening to the beginning of the ballgame on my radio, not quite ready to brave crossing the hot pavement, when I noticed a pair of sneakers, just sitting in between two cars. Couldn't help but think of John Waters and how he always wears really nice shoes in case of spontaneous combustion...
11. What did you dream last night?
No idea. I usually forget my dreams within seconds of waking up.
12. What's on the walls of the room you're in?
I share a bedroom with my parents' fiction collection, so two of the four walls are filled with bookcases -- no walls left there. Otherwise, I have a framed poster of a concert flyer for Richard Thompson above my bed, two framed crazy animal pictures (one a painting my friend Val painted, another onecicadabug found for me in New Mexico). A photo arrangement of my cats, my dad, p_j_cleary, and cicadabug. A couple of mirrors.
13. What do you think of this survey?
Um. Not much so far, especially since I had to delete a repeated question and renumber everything!
14. What's the last film you saw?
Pirates...ARRRR!
15. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
A personal assistant to get my mother organized so she could move into the house I'd buy her. Once she was sorted out, a house for me. Away from her!
16. Tell me something about you that I don't know.
Although I am a good liberal, I'd still like to be able to pick who goes up against the wall first when the revolution comes. OK, maybe you know that about me.
17. If you could change one thing about the world, what would you change?
I would eliminate fighting in the name of religion. I'd like to eliminate religion, but that's probably impossible, given the way our brains are structured.
18. Do you like to dance?
I used to.
19. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
No idea. Never been good at picking names. I have a grey cat named GreyKitty, for god's sake!

"Number One" -- but of course I'd run around doing bad Picard imitations all day long and eventually my son would have to kill me. See? Bad at names.
21. Would you ever consider living abroad?
Oh yes. Absolutely! Can I pick where? Somewhere I don't have to wear a burqa just to walk down the street. Somewhere I'm unlikely to die walking down the street. Somewhere with really nice weather!
