Another improvement (this one less immediate, and less personal): I will no longer buy bottled water. I've been fretting about the landfills enough as it is, lately, and I can at least let this tiny fraction of my guilt go. If my town's water isn't good enough to drink I will go back to filtered water such as Brita or Pur.

Our fridge is small, see, and I can't fit the giant 2.5-gallon containers or even the smaller 1-gallon containers of Poland Spring (the only bottled water I like) into it anymore, so we've been buying tiny 1-liter bottles and refrigerating about three of 'em at a time, and it's been bothering me a lot. So today I read a link from boingboing to the Times:

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/01/opinion/01standage.html?ei=5090&en=1f703b85f17267b3&ex=1280548800&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss&pagewanted=all

And sure, it's an opinion piece, but I heard an interview with the guy who wrote it and he wrote a pretty interesting book about our history with beverages, which I think qualifies him as an expert, and so therefore I am ashamed.

And I'm still sitting up straighter and walking taller! Slacking on the pictures. Sigh.

This improvement stuff is hard.
