I haven't been posting much lately, have I? Not really sure why. I haven't even been updating my reading list. So here's the latest, newsletter-style:
If you're on Facebook or know me in real life, you already know that I recently started dating again. For the rest of you: I recently started dating again! Since it's been 15 years since my last dating experience, this is rather new and interesting. What makes it more interesting is that the guy and I are almost complete opposites: he's conservative to my liberal, is religious to my atheist, is a dog person to my cat person, and has two ex-wives to my zero marriages. We spend a lot of time arguing about stuff. He hates Bush, though, and wouldn't vote for McCain if you held a gun to his head. And he makes me smile. So it's not all sturm und drang.
On the medical front, the surgery date is finally nearing. I can't wait, seriously. I just want it over with! Biopsy is on Nov 13, surgery Nov 21. CUT ME already! And, joy of joys, between now and then I have to get a crown, get a filling, have my eyes checked AGAIN, and have my pre-op appointment. Good times, good times. Aging is my favorite thing EVAR!
Baseball took up a lot of time until recently (sigh) so I've been building up a Tivo backlog. I guess I should save all of "Mad Men," "Pushing Daisies," and "Sons of Anarchy" to watch while I heal up. Just plowed through "Heroes" this weekend. A little disappointing. Loving "Chuck," "Life," "Fringe," "The Mentalist," "The Shield," "Criminal Minds," "Life on Mars," and "Supernatural." Yes, geek much? Watching but less impressed with "Sanctuary" and "Stargate: Atlantis". And that's not everything I watch, trust me. I need a tv intervention, I think.
I haven't been terribly productive at home lately. Big project at work that's been eating my brain. I get home and I'm too fried to stay motivated to get stuff done. I've decided, though, that I need to get the house clean before my surgery, so I started today and did almost the whole living room. I had to move furniture anyway to re-plastic the windows so I vacuumed, and washed the floors, and dusted, and cleaned picture frames, and removed spiders, and I don't know what all. Tomorrow is my crown and it's smack in the middle of the day so I anticipate any potential productivity is already blown, there. Ah well, four more weeks. I can fit cleaning in somewhere in there. Right? I want to recuperate in a clean, fresh-smelling, non-spidered house. That should be doable. Right?
So to sum up: new guy, health stuff, tv, cleaning. Whoo! Life moves pretty fast around here.
Love and Kisses,
Laurie Lee
