A pretty autumn day! I drive by this house on my way to work every day, and a couple of days ago the sun was just perfect, making the tree look like it was on fire (in a good way!).
This is what I most miss, living in Austin. Our falls here are very subtle. We do get the occasional brilliant yellow tree, and sometimes a nice dark red tree (I planted a red oak in my backyard a couple of years ago). Our best trees for fall color are Bradford pears, a little too formal for my tastes (perfectly oval), but with great red and yellow leaves. But mostly it's brownish yellows, brownish reds, and brownish oranges.
