Resolutions Revisted
Sep. 22nd, 2009 02:18 pmI guess I should start updating again, huh? My excuse of being ridiculously busy has really kind of run out. So I figured I might start by reviewing my New Years' resolutions:
1. I resolve to keep up with my meds. I am sometimes willfully bad about them. No more.
I still have had just about 100% compliance here. Yay!
2. I resolve to fit exercise into my life.
Thanks to the demands of physical therapy, I'm doing pretty well, here. I've been going to aquatherapy (stretching and exercising in the pool) and I always free swim after. Plus I've been doing way more activity than usual just from moving, etc. So another Yay! I also am pretty sure that once physical therapy is over I'll probably get a regular gym membership and keep going, because I am enjoying it a lot (except when I hate it a lot).
3. I resolve to move out of here before the end of the year.
I moved. It's good! I have a duplex. I have most of my stuff out of storage again. I bought a washer and a dryer and a couch. I feel almost like a real person. W00t!
4. I resolve to spend more time with my friends.
Moving into an apartment allows me the ability to have my friends over to my house again. Mostly it's been Patrick, but Suzanne and Jenn have stopped by, and I spent a little time with Stephen and Val. So YAY, yet again. But the majority of my time is spent with #5...
5. I resolve to maybe consider perhaps thinking about dating again. Maybe. Possibly.
Well. The progress here is sort of a lot! I started dating Brian in March, and now we live together. It's pretty awesome so far.
I'll also do my usual stuff that keeps me happy: I will take more pictures, read more books, watch more tv and movies, and listen to more music. I'd like to take another trip this year. Maybe abroad — I have my shiny new passport, after all!
Read a bunch of books (book blog evidence to the contrary — I will really have to update that, some day soon), took some pictures, caught up on some tv, watched some more movies, and have been listening to a TON of music. Took a vacation in Austin. Went to the Cape again with Stephen and Val.
So nine months almost gone in this year, and I guess I have to call it a big win! Resolutions resolved. Just gotta keep on keeping on.
I guess once you finish the old you need to make a list of the new? So here's what I'm thinking for the rest of the year:
That's probably enough. It's almost October!
SO that's what's new with me. You?

I guess once you finish the old you need to make a list of the new? So here's what I'm thinking for the rest of the year:
- I'd like to take a couple of classes; Illustrator, InDesign, something like that
- Get the aforementioned gym membership and use it at least 3x per week
- Get rid of the new storage unit — it's small and cheap, but I need to live completely within my apartment and not spread out anymore
- Along those lines, get the dregs of stuff out of old room at Mom's
- and sell the stuff I've already culled from my collections
- Paint the bedroom so it is no longer a flesh band-aid color and is something I can stand
That's probably enough. It's almost October!
SO that's what's new with me. You?
