Been keeping busy. I've managed to lose 15 official pounds in one month (26 since spring). I started going to the gym a couple weeks ago and have only skipped two days. Also, two days I spent swimming in Patrick's pool, instead, but I'm counting those as "gym". I've been swimming, walking on the treadmill, and doing some light weights. Monday I'm going in to have a session with a trainer, where I will get a more structured weight routine. Loving the swimming the most, liking the treadmill the least (duh). The Clash and Joe Jackson get me through, though.

I've tracked every single thing I've eaten now for a month. It's easy, using LoseIt. I've been under my recommended caloric intake amount every single day except one (I went over by 121 cals that day, we had spaghetti), and usually under by several hundred calories. I'm averaging around 1500 cals per day. My nutritionist was impressed with my weight loss, and looked at my printouts from LoseIt and said to basically keep doing what I'm doing. I have another appointment in six weeks, so I'll be interested to see how I do by then.

Been using the CPAP almost every night. Sometimes I wake up with it on the floor, so I assume I had some kind of fit and tossed it during the night. Most nights I make it for at least six or seven hours, though, so that's pretty awesome. I've been sleeping on my back a lot because of it, which is totally weird for me. All new! So much change.

My joints haven't really been hurting like they did. Dunno if it's the weight loss, the under-control blood sugar (really good now), the exercising, or the sleep, but something has helped. I'll take it! Still the occasional ache, but mostly good.

Bought some new tops, as I was kinda swimming in my old ones. Felt good! Got a compliment from my dental hygienist, too.

Been having WICKED heartburn, however. I have a hiatal hernia, and I'm on omeprazole every day, but it's not keeping up with the new routine. I think because I am not padding the bad stuff (tomatoes, peppers, mustard, fruit) with neutral stuff it's smacking me around more. Ugh. So now I take TUMS all the time, too. I can't avoid those foods: I eat most of them with every meal. I'll have to figure a solution, there. One option is surgery. I might go for it if they'll do it. I have Barrett's Esophagus, now, from my GERD, so I'd like to avoid cancer if I possibly can. I should probably give up Diet Coke, but jeez, it's like my only vice right now. I dunno how much I can take!

I've applied to seven jobs in the last few days. Some part-time, some new full-time. We'll see if any go anywhere. Had an interview with a recruiter which went well; rewrote my resume based on her suggestions. She didn't have anything in my area (she mostly does admin) but she was helpful anyway. My goal is to apply to one new job every day. Might as well try! Need money.

Stuff with Brian is ok. In between bouts of me being crazy because of his new friend we're mostly fine with each other. I am still very sad. I have moments where stress overwhelms me, and I bore my friends to death weeping about my problems. Our plan is to stay here through December, so at least there's a date set. I will keep busy, try to get out more, and keep doing what I'm doing.

Along those lines, been seeing my friends more. Went to see Harry Potter with Patrick, and Tabloid with Patrick and his friend Joel. Both were good. Hung out with Steve and Val. Chatted endlessly with Suzanne. Had a work event today and went up in a balloon! Tethered, but was fun anyway. Talking to a few people at the gym. Probably some other stuff I've forgotten.

I'm still reading, of course, and plowing through summer TV. Updated books read list — of the list, my favorite was the last, 7th Sigma, by Steven Gould. Awesome! Really quick read, fascinating setting, great update of Kipling's Kim, which was one of my favorite books as a kid. Can't recommend it enough. Seems like it's going to be the first of several, so I am hoping Gould writes fast and well. Year total is fairly respectable, especially considering how scattered I have been.
