I really liked it. I don't know if it would change your life, but it's certainly an enjoyable read. It's fairly straightforward space opera, but with an enjoyable protagonist and a really interesting universe. I haven't read the additional novels in the series (Scalzi's an energizer bunny, cranking out the stuff) but I've liked these two.

Download it, read a couple chapters on your computer, see if you like it!
